Hyde King Apple is a historic fruit cultivar documented by the U.S. Department of Agriculture between 1886 and 1942. 5 watercolour studies of it survive in the collection, with specimens recorded from California, Humboldt, Briceland; Pennsylvania, Washington, Washington; Ohio, Lake, Painesville, painted by Schutt, Ellen Isham, Heiges, Bertha, Newton, Amanda Almira. The paintings served as official botanical identification records before colour photography.
