Fameuse Apple
Fameuse, or the Snow Apple, is an old French-Canadian variety grown in Quebec by the 1600s. Small and deep red, with strikingly snow-white flesh, it has a sweet, aromatic, slightly spicy flavour. Once a leading apple of the Saint Lawrence valley, it is considered a likely parent of the McIntosh.
