Green Gage Plum

Historical USDA watercolour of the Green Gage Plum plum, painted c.1886–1942

The Green Gage (Reine Claude) is an old European dessert plum prized for flavour above all others. Small and round, greenish-yellow and sometimes freckled, it has tender, exceptionally sweet and richly flavoured flesh, and has been grown in European and American orchards for centuries.
