Eureka Citrus
The Eureka is the common supermarket lemon, a nearly thornless, ever-bearing tree that fruits through much of the year. It was grown in Los Angeles around 1858 from seed of a Sicilian lemon and selected for the California trade. Bright, acidic, and largely seedless, it became the dominant fresh-market lemon of the western United States, and USDA artists recorded it as citrus growing expanded.
